Default Wrench size lug nuts

Hello there from Germany,
itoday i was in a tire shop to change my winter tires to summer ones on my 2009 Ram (i have 2 sets), so there was a little problem with the socket size the service guy told me, they used a 22mm socket and he told me this was very tight on lug nuts.
So my question to all of you, is the socket size 22mm or 7/8 for the lug nuts, if 7/8 i have to buy one for the future (the most german mechnics have only metric tools).

Thank you all, Frank

If you use a tight or loose socket on these cheap capped nuts then you will be replacing them, Should never use power tools on them either, at least not to fulling tighten or crack loose.
I want to buy a set of chrome nuts and get rid of these fake ones.
