ok guys, just curious on what kind of hp gains (if any) from adding a 14" magnaflow muffler (mufflex kit) ?

still have the cats, so i know the gains arent huge, but just the reduced amount of backpressure has to gain something right?

im not looking for miracles since i mostly wanted sound, just trying to get a baseline..

Little to none. Buy for sound, not an performance jump.

 

if you eliminate the cats do you get a couple little gains?

 

i wouldnt remove the cats. 1st its illegal and 2nd the hemis (if thats what u have) like some back presure. i ran no muffler for a day and it didnt like that at all

 

I think if you replaced the factory y and changed the muffler to a magnaflow you'd see something, maybe 5-10 hp, just a guess.

 

i wasnt planning on removing the cats. just wondering for hp discussion sake. i love the way my truck sounds, etc.
