Default Oil Light and Stall Out After Neutral Engine Rev....

So I was in front of my house and reved the engine while in neutral pretty aggresively but only one pedal blip. "DING", stall, oil light......the truck felt like it wanted to move a bit too. I have not yet done the RRT for the "lurch, clunk" issue I have seen previously.

Anyone else have this issue before? I restarted it no problems right after that. It was weird but not a huge concern. I will however call my service rep to inquire about it.

they do have a protection in them from being over reved over certain rpm in neutral/park.

Thanks for confirming guys that these trucks are retarded... At least I am not alone.

I will see what else I can find out about it. As far as a rev limiter...most computers cut out...not off. It also doesn't expalin the oil pressure light coming on. Seems to me that this is a potential safety issue with some of what you might be saying..... I will call Mr. Toyoda to find out what we should do.

they have protection for lack of oil pressure which kills the engine, as well as a rev limiter which cuts fuel. I dont know what would cause the lack of oil pressure while revving maybe it compares pressure to RPM and when the rpm climbs fast with no load it kills the engine before the oil pressure can react?

has anyone figured anything out about this??
I had mine stall a couple months ago and never thought much of it, but i got er stuck in a mud hole the other night so i locked it in 4 low, and everytime i made a run for high ground and got stopped in the mud it would stall after i took my foot off the gas and it idled down. it did it probly about half dozen times till i started leaving throttle to it and slowing it down by slowly lettin off the gas.. the dealer in town here is HORRIBLE so Id be cruising down south about 8 hour drive to have it serviced if this is a big deal what do you think??
