Default My first truck

Hey all,

Im new to the forums - I just brought home my first truck... a 2010 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4 Quad Cab. I work in construction as a project engineer, and the audi A4 just wasnt cutting it anymore! To be honest I never thought I'd buy a dodge, since I really didnt like the previous generation. When the 2009's came out they really caught my eye.

6 months ago I went to Chevy, Ford, and Toyota, but I couldnt even get a decent 2wd full size for much less than $30k! Dodge's incentives are killer right now and I ended up walking out the door with a mineral grey 4x4 quad cab big horn with the 390hp hemi, tow package, tow mirrors, adj. pedals for 24,900! Not only that, but I got the interest rate I was quoted by a credit union matched by GMAC.

They tried to sell me on a Mango Tango Orange one, bu I just couldnt picture myself in it. Overall Im very happy, I love my truck (so much hp!), and I plan on keeping it for a long time. I also have a 1968 AMC Javelin with a 401 and 4 speed, so Im not new to the Mopar game (even though AMC is sort of a redheaded step child). I just graduated college, so this is sort of a present to myself.

Im looking forward to learning about my truck, and hopefully a lift and tires are in the future next year.

It was funny... I pitted 2 dealers agianst each other. The first dealer I went to had this truck advertised at 24900. I called another local dealer and asked if they'd match their price; they said they would, but theirs also had the tow pkg, the extenable mirrors, the 110v outlet in the dash, and the power pedals. So I called the other dealer and asked if they would throw in the tow package - they said no way, we have no money in this truck. Ok, I said fine Im going to buy at the other dealer... Their response was "Alright, come back when they screw you over". Well, they didnt... GMAC came to me with 7% financing (I have well over 700 credit score), and I counted with my credit unions 5.29% for 72. They said no way they can match that, andI replied with "well the other dealer said they would". Well, they came back with matching my financing in the end haha! On top of all that, I was supposed to get a $500 farm bureau member discount, but since I hadnt been a member 30 days I wasnt eligible Would have made the deal 24,500

Added a pic. Those mirrors are great - they fold out for towing
