Default Installed the Air Lift 1000s over the weekend!

It was an easy install and they worked out great! I recomend them! The directions were pretty clear and straight forward.

We picked the truck up by the rear end and set the frame on a set of jack stands. Took both back tires off and unbolted the shocks at the bottom. We carefully lowered the rear end watching the brake lines! You can pull those apart if you aren't careful!

The springs came right out with out any major drama. Didn't have to use any spring compressors or fancy tools at all.

We put the passenger side together, air bag, spacer - black plastic puck thing, factory spring isolater, air line - dont forget the little spring hose clamp on the air line or else you have to take it all back apart - Dont ask me how I know.

Pretty much re-assemble it. We ran the air line directly over to the driverside and repeated those steps. Then we cut the air line where we wanted the tee (above the driver side spring bucket) and ran the air line to the rear.

It took us a while to figure out where we wanted the inflation valve. We settled on using an existing hole in the trailer hitch. It is to the driver side of the hitch just above where the safety chain is hooked up.

We put it all back together and took it for a test drive with a good load in it.

I am really happy with them and I would recomend them to anyone who loads their truck up like I do when I go camping or wheeling.

Glad to hear of the easy install. This is something that I have been pondering if I could do or if I should have them installed by a professional. I pull a travel trailer and even with the weight distribution hitch, I have some squat with the springs. Thanks for the info!

it's the best $100 (DIY) you can spend on your truck if haul stuff regularly.

Two comments. The location of the fill will be covered by a lot of the hitch pins out there. So you may not be able to adjust your air pressure after you install the ballmount and pin.

Most prefer the 2 sides being plummed separate instead of tied together so you can adjust for an off balance load. Also helps keep you level when you travel around a corner. For example, you are going around a corner with the ATV in the bed. The weight transfers to the outside which forces the air to the inside bag thus making the side roll even worse. If separate, that does not happen. Together is easier to fill though.

It is a cheap and easy fix for those that have an issue with the softer rear coils sagging with a heavy load. I paid $78 shipped from an online dealer.

Wow I wonder why the spring has to come all the way out for the Dodge and not he one they were working on in the video on Airlifts website? It was a chevy or gmc I believe? Anyone know why? is it because of the big puck. Is that necessary? I don't want to level the truck or anything just want to be able to add some anti squat to the bum so it doesn't look like it's overloaded.

I saw this set up on a friends truck but I went with the one valve as per the instructions. I drilled a spot next to my license plate for the valve. I will say that the valve has really rusted up through the winter due to road salt and magnesium chloride. I am not really happy about that, otherwise the bags do the job as required and designed.
