Default Largest Tires on stock rims w/ 3" lift

I'm beginning the search for new tires. I am about 95% certain that I am going to put on a 3" body lift (for warranty reasons) and will need to upgrade to some larger tires.

I am on the fence if I want to get new rims and fender flares, so for the time being, I am going to keep my stock 20" chrome clads, and am looking to see if anyone knows the largest tires size (both height and width) that will fit with the factory rims.

I know there are a lot of threads out there with the info, but thought I'd start a new one since I don't think I have seen anyone talk about this with a 3" body lift.

Thank you in advance for any info.

you can do 35x12.5 no problem -- on stick rim i doubt it -- the tire will rub the control arm and pop it. You will need new rims -- with a 4.75 offset

yeah, I don't think the wife will approve me dropping a grand on a set of rims... especially when I'm currently lobbying for approval to drop a couple thousand on a new long arm lift kit for my wrangler.

So, I'm back to the original question, if I put a 3" body lift on a 2010 sport, what is the largest/widest tire size that I could run with minimal rubbing? Anyone out there with a 2.5" leveling kit and stock 20" sport rims with any tire specs?

Thanks again for the help.

well if you wanna know how wide you can go - put your hand behind your tire and see how much clearance there is between the tire wall and control arm -- my guess not that much -- so you wont be able to go much wider than stock, with out an offset rim. As for height i would guess 35 would be your max - even will a level kit -- but i think most 35-37 inch tires are running 12.5 - 13.5 in width - and thats where you get screwed -- stock your rolling 275 -- so you should be cool with a 285 / 295 --> anyway im just guessing . But from my experience i had an 08 with a 2.5" front level with a 1.5 inch lift in the rear - and tried to slap 35x12.5 on my stock 17's and it didn't work -- the clearance was good, but the problem was not enough back spacing, even tried them with a wheel spacer, no luck. anyway thats my .02

yeah... i had a feeling this would be the problem. I remember seeing a guy from canada with a 4" lift sitting on bigger meats but with stock rims. I'm going to see if I can track him down and send him a pm to find out what size rubber he is running. I'll post what i find out.

I originally started out with a 2.5" leveling kit from Rough Country and 33X12.50R20 tires on the stock rims. I had to add spacers so the tires would fit and they still rubbed a little bit when cutting the wheel hard. So to answer your question, I think with stock rims the biggest tire you can hope to fit is a 33X12.50. I hope this helps.
