Default Who has removed resonators with Magnaflow mufflers?

My current 3 inch no resonators with an at3030 muffler sounds phenenominal but it's loud as hell and not very woman friendly. Can barely hear them talk while I am driving which as nice as that sounds, it gets troublesome. So I need a quieter set up but I am not putting the resonators back on.

I would like to put on a magnaflow or bassani muffler and keep my resonators off. So how do they drone with no resonators?

And for anyone curious, removing the resonators makes a huge difference in drone and sound levels. It sounds amazing but it drones significantly more with aftermarket exhaust.

Removing the resonators actually helped to reduce the drone I had. It was just as loud as ever during acceleration, but seemed much more friendly during highway speeds. That was with a Magnaflow/Mufflex 14. I've since switched to a Flowmaster Super 40, which is even louder at idle and low speeds, but quieter at highway speeds. My wife is the same way, and she's never said anything about the noise level.

Interesting, Not a big flowmaster fan but I am still curious to get some more feedback from others. Thanks!

Magnaflow XL 24 inch no reasonators. Its loud I think.Wife and others says it sounds awesome. No drone even towing. You can tell when MDS kicks in and out.I'm OK with that.I could not imagine 14 or 18 inch with no resonator's

When I had the 14 on my truck without the resonators, it wasn't that bad actually. It seemed to kill the drone and quiet it some at highway speeds. It wasn't really till the MDS kicked in that you'd notice the muffler was even back there. Well, maybe it wasn't that transparent, but you could easily have a conversation at normal levels.

I went to youtube and checked out a bunch of clips with different set-ups. i had a super 40 on my 04 Hemi Quad Cab. Fun at first but highway traveling over an hour had my brain vibrating inside my skull. I went with the 18" mufflex/magnaflow on my 09 Hemi Crew and left the resonators in. I love it, pair it with a CAI and it grumbles cruising through town and barks like hell when you hammer it. Good news is that on the highway i barely hear the drone MDS kicked in or not. If your dead set on keeping the resonators out this aint helpin ya, i know. But youtube has a lot of sound clips of all the different set-ups. i think the CAI is key for that sound. Hope that helps.

I found none of the sound clips were like being in the truck etc.Plus most all had reasonators in place.Makes a big difference reasonators or not.

There is one clip of a yellow '09 with 18" Magnaflow that shows the interior sound, cruising, WOT etc. I am at work right now and youtube is blocked or else I would post the link for you. The clip starts outside the truck so it can be a little misleading at first.

I have the 18'' magnaflows without the resonators and to me it sounds good. I am use to having a loud exhaust my previous truck had glasspacks and a cutout so I kno what loud is. These magnaflows w/o the resonators have the perfect sound IMO and when you are crusing on the highway or city streets u hardly notice the sound, but when u mesh on it heads definitely turn to see whats rumbling by. If u want to hear ur hemi def remove the resonators.
