Unhappy rear ennd issues

Hi ya'all!

I am a new member and this is my first post. The rear end in my 2009 Ram 1500 started whinning at about 8,000 miles. Took it to the dealer and made an appointment to have it checked out. They are replacing all of the bearings in the differential. My last new Dodge 1500 (2002) had a rear end problem starting at 7,000 miles and they ended up having to replace the entire rear end, housing and all.

Any one out there having similar issues?

Here is my thread from last week on my rear end issues.

Sounds very similar to what you are describing. They told me one of the side bearings had gone out. They replaced everthing inside the differential.

Hope we aren't on the cutting edge of a new RRT issue coming up with these trucks. My truck had the exhaust manifold issues on it before the RRT came out addressing that problem.

It is a Recall of sorts. Not sure what RRT stands for, but for example when you take your truck in for an oil change they will run the VIN in the computer and if an RRT pops up they will schedule with you to fix it.

My 2008 Ram 1500 rear end went out at 13,000 miles, they replaced the whole unit. At first they ordered parts to rebuild and some Dodge Rep stepped in and told them to replace the whole rear end.
