Sunroof....or not?
I ordered my new 1500 sport a few days ago with most options, but without the sunroof. The price was just getting out of hand.
I live in Canada where I could see it being too cold to use for 6 months of the year.
Besides slightly reduced headroom in the cab, what are the pros and cons of this option?
I might still be able to add it.

what is it like an $1800 option? I would pass. I didn't order one in mine. I've had a car with a sunroof before and my finaces last car had one. Never really was a big fan. Just my opinion though.
I'm a sunroof fan. The Ram has drain tubes in all 4 corners of the sunroof unlike some cheaper vehicles where they skimp and only put one on each side of the vehicle. This greatly reduces the chances of a leak getting into the passenger compartment. Anyway, I like to minimize my A/C usage and get fresh air when I can. The sunroof is great because you can use the vent feature for just a little or have it full open for a lot. Its a lot quieter and there's significantly less wind in your face than driving with the windows down. Sometimes i just enjoy driving with the shade open to let more light into the cab. Anyway, its not a 'must have' feature for me, but I enjoy having it. I was fortunate enough to have my dealer upgrade me to a truck with a sunroof and a 32 gal fuel tank for free when my original intended vehicle of purchase fell through.
I love having a sunroof because of the cross ventilation you can get by opening the sunroof and rear window. I was a previous owner of a Toyota 4Runner and that was my favorite feature on the vehicle. I will always get a sunroof from here on out.
i'm a big sunroof fan, opting for one in every car i've owned. i chose not to get one this time for one big reason, eventually they all leak. yes the drain holes are designed to accomodate leakage but they require maintenance also. i'm sure that 99% of people will have little or no issues w/ the sunroofs, but i intend to "retire" this vehicle for a second life in the country; hopefully providing decades of "lifetime" transportation while traversing the dirt roads of west texas. my thinking was that a sunroof would allow water to creep into the truck during periods of non-use, sometimes as long as 4 months. i miss not having one especially during moderate weather - Like Today!

If the price is in your range, then I'd say get it. I'm not a huge sunroof fan, but I like them when I've had them. If I'd ordered the truck from the factory, then I'd have added the option, but since I bought mine from the dealer and it didn't come with it, then I'm not going to add one. Sunroofs are nice, but even I'm not crazy enough to add an aftermarket one.
