vibration and rough sound at 45 mph
I dont know why my truck runs rough at 40 and 45. I dont feel it at 60 or 70 or 80. Is the eco light the mds kicking in. I think you guys are right, but damn you wouldnt think dodge would let this slide. This is my first dodge so i dont know. I know my 06 f-150 didnt do it. But by the way, this new ram is ten times better then my 06 f-150 was.
There was a bulletin out for smoother MDS transition. Maybe that's all you need is to have your computer flashed. I also had two Ford's and the Ram is by far the better truck. Especially when you get close to 20 mpg on the highway.
I was about to start a thread on this but found this one. I too have a vibration right at 40mph. I thought it was my tires. I am going in for the tailgate plastic part coming off, again, and am going to have them check it out. I can actually feel the vibration in my right foot and steering wheel. I thought it was a bearing or power steering issue, if not the tires.
someone covered this a year ago. the motor mounts are designed for dampening harmonics and 8 cyl makes different harmonics than 4 cyl at certain rpms\gears. but this is weird--- i have a very early build 09 like august 08 or something. my wife just got a 010 and my truck sounds like a prius. you cant hear the engine running. you cant hear the exhaust change. no road noise. my wifes truck has tons of in cab engine noise, road noise, and the exhaust change is loud. outside of our trucks they sound the same. i think the early builds were pimped up a little with lots of sound dampening material that they may skimp on now to save money and weight of the truck. either way my wife and i love how quiet mine is inside and LOVE both trucks. she averages 22 mpgs on the 50 mile drive to burlington vt and back twice a week. isnt that what mid 90s accords and civics got. and new subarus????
