Yeah, it is Canuckistan. Ontario started it, others followed and BC is coming. It is supposed to be huge savings for the insurance companies so I can only imagine that states will start adopting it if some haven't allready.

That is one of those laws that will never pass in the good 'ole republic of Texas. We'll secede before we let the Feds jam that law down our throats.

But seriously, wouldn't it be cheaper to just have to repair one vehicle (the vehicle of the person who's fault it is btw) instead of two?

On the truck, the reciever is still there, so you need to replace the bumper. On the car, without a drop mount, you replace the front bumper/grill. With the drop hitch in place. You replace the bumper, grill, rad support, rad, a/c rad and whatever else the hitch plowed through. Instead off distributing the impact over both bumpers, you are now concentrating it on a 2 inch square..... it goes in a long ways. I've seen it take out intakes and other engine parts as well that would never have been hit without the hitch in place.

I am not condoning the law, just stating it is out there, at least in some provinces in Canada and possibly some states.
