Default 87 with no ethanol, or 89 with ethanol?

A local gas station by me sells 87 octane with no ethanol at all in it, and then it sells 89 with the standard 10% ethanol in it. What would be the better choice? I have heard that even a little ethanol can cause problems in engines. Unfortunately it has become almost standard for 10% ethanol to be mixed in at all stations around here.

The 87 is about 10 cents more per gallon than the 89 because of the lack of ethanol.

it is a law in the state of PA 10% ethanol has to be in all gas. I think by now manfacturers have made their engines 100% safe for ethanol. The only things I have heard might have issues were older lawn mowers, tractors, weedwackers, etc.

I would put in 89 if you don't mind paying the extra 10 cents or so per gallon as per the owners manual.

As long as you don't put e85 in a hemi then it should be fine. By all means get the 89 octane, especially if its cheaper

I am currently running 89. My plan is to run a couple of tanks of each to see what affect the ethanol has on gas mileage. I will most likely stay with the 89, but I like testing stuff like this.
