Default 2010 seat belt ding

Does anybody know how you can turn off the seat belt dinger ? The owners manual doesn't say how to deprogram it. And i have tried the buckle and unbuckle 3 times deal. It doesn't work.

search is your best friend, my friend. But, I'll tell you how to do it right now.

1. get in the vehicle. buckle up. don't put the key in yet.
2. turn the key to ON position.
3. after the blinking red seatbelt sign turns off, do a 3 cycles of unbuckle and buckle within 10 sec. ending with a buckled position.
4. turn off the key and you'll hear a cofirmation chime.

do it at your own risk.

It does work. It's worked on all my dodges in the last four years including my 2010 ram.

Now once the sequence that you just described is completed, does that mean it has been disabled permanently or just for that single trip?

I have a much easyier way to do it. Hop in the truck, buckle the seat belt and drive away. No three times crap, just buckle it once. This does need to be undone everytime you get out.... then redone when you go again. But it works 100% of the time.....

I am sure if you drove offroad you would understand the annoyance while trying to back up a boat and see around mirrors or check clearance out the window while manuvering over an obstacle on a trail. I am pretty sure most people on here could figure out how to buckle their seatbelts....

I do drive offroad and have seen too many people roll their trucks and get pinned underneath them to not buckle up..... comfortable or not. And I back my boat and trailer up all the time.... no issues.

I wear my seatbelt every time I drive out of habbit. However, it would be nice to turn the car on and not hear dings going off....

When in for service, I had the dealer turn it off on my 04.
