2010 2500 6.7L diesel Remote start
I have ordered a OEM remote start kit from Dodge all factory parts. I've been told after I install the kit I must take my truck to the dealer to enable the remote start, Some sort of PCM flash. is this true ?
Yes you must take to Dodge to to be Flashed. But not too bad they only charged me $135.00 to install, flash and enable fast idle control. Not bad at all, they wore going to charge me $127.00 just to flash it, so for $8 more dollars they installed and did the whole job.
From what I understand you won't be able to start it after the install without the flash. So unless you do it on the dealers lot you'll have to have it towed in. My dealer charged me around $370 installed, including setting up my orginal fobs. So now I have 2 fobs with remote start and 2 spares that you can still start the truck manually with.
I got the remote start kit from E-Bay factory OEM from a dodge dealer in Phoeinx and then drove my truck to the dealer here in Tucson and had them install-flash-enable fast idle and have all 4 key fobs work. Paid $224.00 for the kit, $135.00 to install/flash thats all Tucson Dodge
