Window visors
Just tried to install window visors on my 09 quad cab. These are the in channel ones made by avs. When installing the first one on the passenger front door I noticed that when I rolled the window up the glass would touch the inside of the visor right at the top and the window would automatically stop and roll back down. In looking in the owners manual I see that some of the trucks have an anti pinch feature to automatically roll the window back down if something is in the way. Does this mean we can't use the in channel ones on our trucks? Maybe it's the way this AVS one is made. Anyone else have this problem?
I just installed a set of the putco in channel vent visors on my 2010 slt and i had the same problem but i dont think i installed them how they were meant to be put in i took the black window gromets all the way out and installed them to the painted metalthen put the window gromets back in and when putting the windows up they kept rolling back down. What i found was happening is that with the extra thickness of the plastic in the window channel it was bending over the seal that contacted the window at the top and that was provinding resistance to the window. So with a little extra time and a lot of pulling and prying i got the windows completly up with out the seal getting bent over. After that i left the window up for about 3 days to try and reshape the seals. That was about 3 weeks ago and have had only 1 time that there was a problem with the driver side i just used my finger running it back and forth in the seal to get it straightened out again. Dont know if this will help you or not but good luck getting it to work for ya.
