Codes
Finally got the truck back from AutoMetric today. They did an outstanding job repairing what some loser did to my new Ram. I do however have one problem. I now have a Service 4WD Code and a ESP/BAS code and when I hit the trailer tow button the number 5 pops up like it is in autostick. Everything seems to work, so my question is does it need to be flashed at the dealer to clear these codes. Disconnecting the battery did not seem to fix the problem. The whole dash needed to be replaced along with the Nav radio that was ripped off. Of course the bezel around the radio and all the controls had to be disconnected and replaced. The shop has agreed to make it right but I am out of town next week, so I will need to take it in when I return.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Get it scanned. They may have disconnected some of the connectors with the key in the run position without the battery disconnected. If any of the codes are active they may have forgot to plug something in. Disconnecting the battery isn't very successful in erasing codes anymore. The ESP/BAS light is most likely because the clockspring was disconnected or damaged when they reinstalled the steering wheel. If they reinstalled the steering wheel without aligning it to the tab on the clockspring it will affect the calibration of the Steering Angle Sensor. Having disconnected the clockspring you may also have to Initialize the ABS ecm which involves using a StarScan and completing a 3 point turn and turn with the steering wheel turned 90 degrees at 15 mph or higher

Thanks for the information. I do not believe that they had to remove the steering wheel to replace the dash cover. I think the IP is a separate module. Is that true? The other weird problem is when I put it in tow/haul the number 5 pops up in the right side box. This is the gear indicator for when you have the transmission in Auto stick.

The behavior you are describing for the tow/Haul switch is the way it is supposed to work.
As for the esp/bas - it's probabally a damaged wheel sensor or the wiring that goes to the wheel sensor. Starscan will tell you which one.

Such a pain in the *** when people tear stuff apart to get it back to normal. I would want my dash removed, and all new wire harnesses put on! Especially if insurance is paying. They wanted suck us dry then they should fix stuff right.
I never noticed that it displays the gear when in tow/haul. Is this the way it is supposed to work? I only tow a 2000 lb boat/trailer, so I usually do not use the tow/haul feature. I used a top notch collision shop, so I know they will make it right. The harness was not damaged, so I think the codes are probably from the connectors being removed to allow the trim and dash to be replaced.
