Metro Detroit peeps
I'm looking for a decent service department.
I'm right around the corner from Parkway, but they just stepped on my last nerve. I gave them plenty of chances due to their proximity, but the latest crap was the last straw. They didn't want to align my truck because my "aftermarket valve stem cover" was stuck on my tire, which they thought was over inflated, causing the truck to pull to the left. They said they could "attempt" to remove the cap, but they'd pry wreck the valve stem, and because the cap was "aftermarket" , the stem replacement wouldn't be covered under warranty. I told them to forget it, I'd get the cap off. The rep suggested I use a DIE GRINDER to CUT IT OFF. Right. First off, they are the same caps that were on my truck when I drove it off the lot. But I wasn't going to argue, it's gotten me nowhere with them in the past. So I take the truck home and prepare to take the cap off. I planned on grabbing the stem with the channel locks and getting the cap off with the wrench. No need. It wasn't finger loose, but I literally TOUCHED the cap with the wrench, no twisting, no channel locks, and the cap spun off right off. Checked the tire pressure, it's perfect. A waste of my time, and I sure as hell wasn't going to take it back there for the alignment.
This is the same dealer that told me my gears went because I must have been doing burnouts. No, the bad pinion seal that they had already replaced 1k before and that had drained the pumpkin dry this time had nothing to do with it. It's the same dealer that replaced my jacked up door handles with more jacked up door handles. The same dealer that when I told them about a rattle in the center console, took it out for a spin, couldn't find it, and then admitted they were resting their arm on the console the entire time.
So then I went out of my way to Jim Reihl's in Roseville for the alignment. It's 20 minutes away, but the family goes there a lot and they seemed to be on top of things. I didn't want to wait 3 hours for an alignment, so they had me set up an appointment the next day. Cool. I get in for the appointment. 3 1/2 hours later they tell me their alignment machine isn't working, and they sent me to the shop across the street to get it done.
So I'm looking for recommendations from guys that have had work done at area service departments, or maybe work at a local service department.

I only let roseville touch my cars. So there machine was down. It happens bro. Remember their service dept is now doing almost 3 times the volume they used to do. They picked up most of colonial's customers, and lochmoor's. Plus my wife is a salesperson!

I understand machines go down, but it shouldn't take 3 1/2 hours to figure that out. I had driven down there the day before and didn't stick around then because it was gonna be a long wait. They said if I came in the next day it would be done quick. If the shop across the street had it done in 45 minutes, Reihl's sure as hell shouldn't have needed over 3 hours to let me know their machine(which they then told me they'd been having many issues with) wasn't calibrated right.
You probably weren't the only car waiting either. Have you ever tried to fix on of those machines? I used to work at warren truck. When our went down, sometimes it took a day or two to get it back up. Sometimes it was a few hours. My point is just don't let a bad piece of equipment turn you off. They are in the process of redoing the entire dealership to get the dodge brand in a few months. They are also revamping the service dept to help with the added work. I'd geve them another chance. I would've bought my new ram there, but they don't sell them yet. I would never take my truck to where I bought it for service though. Richmond. Not a fan of their service dept. I'm not a fan of parkway at all. I wouldn't send my dog there to be honest.

Yes, I'm done with Parkway. I actually leased my last truck from Richmond, never tried their service though. I won't being going to the dealer I got this truck from, it's in Omaha lol.
