radiator fan on too much?

Default radiator fan on too much?

hey guys, its only high 60's temp lately here in MI. i swear my rad fan is on A LOT! wife just pulled in to the drive way and its on. is it supposed to be like that?

These trucks don't have electric fans so as long as your engine is running the fan is running.

yeah, mine too. lol. its mounted directly to the radiator(behind it i should say)

That fan is for the a/c compressor, on the 3rd gen's there was a separate smaller radiator that had an e-fan mounted to it and then the clutch fan for the main radiator. I'm pretty sure you have a clutch fan and then the e-fan for the a/c compressor as well, so if you had the a/c on or were on defrost it would be on.

oh, that might make sense. i have to look into that. cause the old lady just said she did have the air on , so ill keep a closer eye on it..

The electric fan works under slow driving or idle conditions. If the trans gets hot it kicks on, if the coolant gets hot while at a light or in park it will kick on. It's thermostatically controlled.
