Default New Ram and 1200 mile ride home!

Just got home from picking up my father's 09 slightly used Silver Laramie CC 4x4 with RamBox. We found it in Roswell GA, and i drove it the 1200 or so miles back to NH. Before anybody asks why we bought something so far away, well if you have tried to find a loaded 09 or 10 for that matter in the color you want with the options it isn't that easy. Oh Yeah, and the price factor. My fathers friend works as a GM at a local dealer and couldn't even get him into a 10' Laramie for under $40k! I know they are great trucks but 40k for a truck is kinda crazy.
So an 09' with 20k on it was a good buy in our opinion, super clean, loaded, with everything except the rear dvd option for $34K. Up our way in NH a couple dealers wouldn't budge from $40k on similar 09's, so the little bit of research, a $120 flight,3 tanks of gas and 17 straight hours later he's got his new rig!
It certainly has the car feel on the highway, not like my HD at all but that is obvious. I was cruising at 80 thinking i was going 60, not to mention how fast you can pull away from almost anyone with the touch of the pedal. Pretty impressed so far, we'll see how the old man likes it in a couple hundred local miles and give you an update!

Truck prices are really high right now. I know a couple people that are driving 1,000 miles to go buy and resell a truck for a quick profit.

If you think that's expensive don't come to Canada. 2010 CC SLT Hemi $45k! And the dollar is basically at par!

The late model used truck market is very strong right now, it is extremely difficult to find a loaded up '09 with 10K miles or so for less than what you can buy a new truck for. A Ford salesman told me that they are having to pay a lot more at the auctions for the late model stuff, so the dealer's prices are correspondingly high.

congrats. i hope you waved when you passed my house.

the south is a good place to buy trucks. LOTS of them. no snow/salt. most of them are daily drivers on paved roads and have never seen a dirt road in their whole life. enjoy.
