Default Plugs Again

Anyone pay to have their spark plugs replaced yet? I was at the dealer for an oil change yesterday and got a quote for $350.00. They were quoting a tune up. That's a pretty penny to have done every 30,000 miles.

They tried to do that on my girls aspen and we are just going to wait till 50k or 60k. If anyone knows why it is not a good idea to wait let me know. Just seems early for that already.

I've decided to wait for 50k to change the plugs, everyone says the plugs look fine after 30k anyways.

30,000 Miles? Because the manual say it must be done and I do not want to mess up my standard warranty or my extended warranty. It's called "Scheduled Maintenance". Sickening.

I am thinking seriously about selling this truck. To bad I like it so much.

It cost's more than any other truck on the market as far as maintenance. My last Ford F-150 had platinum plugs and lasted 100,000 miles. Dodge says platinum's are okay but you still change at 30,000 miles. How about that.

IMO that warranty aint worth overpaying for all your maintainence work getting done at the dealer, not to mention unnecessary maintainence

in about 3 weeks I'll hit 60,000 and the transmission needs changing .... 129.00 at the dealer.... One service advisor said it was a synthectic fluid????

You are not required to go to the dealer. Even if you wanna tackle the plugs yourself just keep the receipt and put the date you changed them on it with the mileage and staple it to the page in your book. 350 bucks for 16 plug tune up which probably includes some other parts, air filter and oil change right? That would be a tune up. Now for me I just noticed we put just under 10000kilometers in one year so 50000 Kilometers I don't have to touch mine for 5 years LOL. I guess you drive too much.
I think that selling it because of that is silly, you will loose too much right now. Wait a few more years and then you will have gotten use out of it and it will be worth what it should be then. Just in the first 2 years you loose especially if you put a pile of money down.
Call and ask how much for a tune up on the comparable Chevy..you gotta buy the 400 hp one. See how much that bad boy sets you back just to purchase the truck and GM does not wheel and deal like Dodge does. You wont see a 12 grand discount You wont see 1200 discount. Now how much was that tune up at GM. You could probably save some money buying the plugs somewhere else and have the dealer put them in. Ask them how much the plugs portion is and or whatever parts are changed in a 30000 mile tune up. Kinda like the old days. You had to do it but you had to change the wires, and the rotor and cap, set the timing
Anyway good luck with whatever you do, but look at that GM its butt ugly.
