The only reason it applies to 2010's is because they changed suppliers of the wireless control module. So if the software is not up to date, it needs to be updated.
It happens to 2009's also. Like I said, it even happens with the inside buttons. It was much worse than it is now. But on occasion it will not unlock. Its funny because the remote start has never failed to work, ever.
i had similar problems all i did was open up my fob and clean the contacts on the board and it made a huge difference now i only have to hit it once not 20 times
