Question Which bed size do you perfer?

Hi everyone, I am soon to be purchasing my new Hemi 1500, I am upside down right now, loosing my mind because I can't determind which bed size to get.

my first path was to get a Crew Cab for the larger doors and interior space in the back, but now my plans have changed a little and I won't need that much space.

so my second path is to look into a Quad Cab and i'm seeing different bed sizes (or is it me)

The "build your own" section on the dodge site is throwing me off a little bit..

Is the 6.4' bed only available on the Quad and the 5.7' only available on the Crew?

Thanks again everyone

If you want a crew cab with an 8ft box you gotta buy that big ole dually. I think that truck rocks, but I like my car like ride, only this crew cab does have a big turning radius. Hard to park i lots these days spots are so small, the handicap spots are almost too small for this monster. LOL Ya I have a sticker and well don't like to use it cuz most often the handicap parking is near the cart corrals and well people don't like to take the carts all the way to the corral so I wind up in my chair putting sometimes 3 or4 carts that have luckily so far not been against my truck just a pain to move them.

Hey what you gonna use the truck for that would be a start?

It's all about what you need the truck to do. Think about what you will use the truck for then get the bed and cab that will best meet your requirements.

I bought a 3500 crew cab with an 8 foot bed because I bought the truck to haul a slide in camper

Yes and you have a couple of nice corvettes. By the way that is the truck I was referring to......Sweet. Ya gotta feel safe driving down the street in that. Is the back end bouncy?

I picked the quad with the 6'4" bed. Since I own a restaurant, and a landscaping company I actually use my truck like a .... What for it..... A truck! To me the crew cab bed is useless. I wish they made the crew with a 6' bed!

The truck is more comfortable (more comfortable seats and better seating position) than the Lexus GS450H I traded in, but that is only on a flat road. Any little bump in the road and it bounces real bad. I am going to be putting in a slide in camper that weighs about 4,000 pounds in a few days. That should stop the bouncing

You are right that the long bed is too darn big, but anything smaller would not get the job done. As I said before you first decide what job you need the truck to do then buy the size truck that will get it done. if a person really does not intend to use the truck to do any real work they can get by with a small bed.

In my case I could have bought a camper that will fit in a short bed gut that would have meant small water tanks and small waste holding tanks so I picked the size camper first then bought a truck that can hold it.

I should have this in the back of my truck in a week or two

With us and 2 kids under 2, interior room was more important, crew. But if we had no kids I would still get the crew, interior is huge/more comfortable. And unless you are hauling something 5'8"-6'4", you need your tailgate down anyway.(if that makes sense)
