New 2010 ram with the Hemi. I have about 3900 miles on it. I gave the truck a full pedal punch and noticed a burning plastic smell right afterward. I did this again about a week later and noticed the same thing. I could actually smell it at the tailpipes after I parked the truck and was trying to locate the smell.

Any help on this one?

 

Was there smoke coming from the wheel wells, and a loud screeching sound while you were accellerating like this?

I wonder if you just got the pipes a little hotter, and they're still burning off some coating? I've only got 300 on mine, and after I drive it and park it, in the garage I can smell something similar. Had the same smell for a while after I put a new exhaust header on the Jeep. Not sure what's on the metal, or if it's just the metal itself. Although, I'd think at 3900 that would be gone by now...

 

The smell won't be gone until after a few full throttle runs... Mine was the exact same way, its just the new burning off it....

 

Yeah I smelled it last night it’s going to the dealership next week for an oil change and to replace the grill. I and Gonna tell them about it if it still smells. Thank you guys.
