Default Suggestions - Bug deflector

Any suggestions for a bug deflector on my 2010 Laramie CC in Austin Tan? I was looking at either the Chrome or Tinted Mopar ones, which I can get at a very good price. I originally liked the chrome, but am now wondering if it will make for too much chrome when combined with the grill. Anyone use the 3M protective film?

Thanks,

You can get a colour matched one, it is clear and painted your truck color on the inside, makes it kinda obscure and not so noticeable like the chrome ones unless you are going for the plastichrome look. Since they came out with the chrome clad wheels there is nothing the is actuall real metal and chrome except the rusty front bumper.

I like my color matched one. Thought the chrome would be a little much..

I have the chrome grille and I went with Mopar chrome bug deflector on mine and I am glad I went that way. It sort of gives the front end a little taller look. I like it because the front of these trucks sit low and this made it look a little taller. I liked the chrome so much I went out and got one for my wives Jeep as well. Look at my sig pic and you can get an idea of what it would look like.

For anyone who has one, did you notice any real improvement in deflecting bugs? I've always suspected that the deflectors that are so low such as these really don't do anything. I had a similar one on a 2000 Grand Cherokee and the window still filled with bugs. Just curious about the one for the Ram.

The modern bug deflectors just protect the leading edge of the hood, if you want real bug deflection from the windshield you have to get one of the old fashion vertical ones that are about 8 inches tall. but I think you need an AARP card to purchase one of those

That's what I was thinking. For paint protection I prefer to go with ScotchCal clear protection instead. It is a marvelous product.

I had a the clear tape on and a rock still put a good sized ding in the hood, the hood dents real easy on these. I went with the color matched Mopar deflector to hide the ding and prevent any others. You can hardly tell its there..

Problem is that my truck is Austin Tan and they do not have a color matched Mopar in that color. Who sells the clear ones that can be painted?

I have the MOPAR bug shield on my truck. It seems to eliminate some of the bugs on the windshield. Also, it is painted the same color of my truck - Inferno Red. Unless it is pointed out, most people do not notice that it is there.
