Would love the option in Canada to get lifetime warranty, waiting to hear what you find out!

OK, took the truck in and found out what it was all about. Its not a factory warranty but is done through a third party, BG Products.
What it comes down to is if you use their products they will warranty the parts for life. This includes engine, Transmission, differentials, cooling system and more. You just need to make sure you do these fluid changes at regular intervals. But the intervals are pretty good, for example my regular oil change was every 5000kms, but with their oil I can run 8000kms with a warranty, that if the engine fails, they will pay up to $4000 toward repair.
My next thing is to get the differentials done, to get the warranty on both diff's I need to change out the fluid twice before 75000kms. The Tranny will be the next thing, they pay up to $2000 for repairs.

A pretty good deal for just using their oil, and it keeps you on a regular schedule to replace the fluids. I do a lot of towing, so I should be doing this anyway. Here is a link to their site.

I also have a more detailed document if anyone wants it, I can scan it and send it to you.

And this letter originally looked like it came from your dealership offering a Chrysler warranty? Thats a little deceptive of them isn't it? Would make me wary of dealing with them.....

This is one of the biggest dealerships here, and the letter only stated that I was eligible for a lifetime warranty, didn't state who it was from. They are a great dealership to deal with, they even wash my truck whenever I bring it in for an oilchange

I am new to dodge trucks and am currently dealing on a 2010 White SLT Crew 4x4 Sport...the dealer is offering a BG lifetime warranty on all fluid related drivetrain parts as long as I follow their recommended service schedule...spend $$$ every 5000kms...seems excessive...the program starts June 1, 2010 but they will honour it for me if I buy before that date.

The other dealer is offering a engine warranty following a similar schedule but its ONLY the engine.

THe service writer stated, more like yelled at me...make sure u buy the extended all inclusive as well cause you'll need it to rebuild the front end...lol...not sure what to do now? ;-( Send a pm if u have any news for me) thanks

Mine used to wash the vehicle also but too many people bitched they had to wait and extra half hour.........losers. I would go everymonth in the winter January oil change, February tire rotation,March something else that was necessary maybe another oil change depending on mileage. Now they don't wash them anymore, I complained to my sales guy he took my RAM and My Avenger and gave them the paint treatment and cleaned and detailed the interior and under the hood. If I hadn't oil sprayed they would have rust proofed and undercoated.

Hey, if I were you, I would stay away from those dealer offered warranties. I just found out today the dealership I bought my Ram from screwed me big time. I found the same warranty (lifetime) from the same company for about $2,200 less... PM me if you want details about it and where you should check first.

I spoke with the tech who commented yesterday at the dealership, he meant I should buy the Dodge extended warranty as its covers everything. Then he said the BG warranty is a smokin deal as it covers the complete drive train "anything lubricated with or that could use a BG product". Sounded pretty good to me...

I love the new Ram but I am terrified of domestics after owning Nissans for so long and having TROUBLE FREE ownership...just trying to develop confidence I guess...

Buddy how many Nissans did you own trouble free? You mean never a recall, never an update nothing?
I think that you should stick with Nissan you text like you would be one of those guys who bought a RAM and something would be different than your Nissan and you would complain. Nissan hasn't done anything to their truck for so long it's so outdated you can't even compare. Compare the price of a new Nissan and a new RAM and start there to build your confidence. Money is always a confidence builder to me.
You can get a 300000 mile engine warranty just for using I think Valvoline oil or one of them if you start before a certain mileage and then have proof of purchase for the oil I am sure, not sure of the other requirements. I like that, no extra charges. Gonna look into that one myself for sure to see if they cover HEMI's they might not..they might figure we beat on them. I think of it as just an engine in my truck..there are 6 cylinder twin turbo Tauruses out there that could smoke one of these trucks so be careful.
