Default Anyone have the Retrax?

Has anyone here put the Retrax retractible tonneau cover on their Ram? I've been doing some research, and this seems to fit the bill for what I want, but I'd like to hear from some actual users. It will be going on a '10 CC Sport, with no Rambox.

What I'm mainly concerned with is;

Was it easy to install? How long did it take, and is modifications to the truck bed necessary?
Is it durable? Is a load of snow on it going to damage it, or possible hail pitting it like iv'e read about someof the other metal tonneau covers.
Is it water tight? I think they offer an additional gasket for around the tailgate to improve weather protection, but how does the rest of the cover keep water out?

I have one on a 10 Sport. Took about 40 minutes to install with a second person. No modifications required. It installs with 4 brackets that are like a vice. This is my second one. I had one on a Titan for 5 years and really liked it. As far as snow goes I can't help you. I am in Texas near the coast. I sold my Titan to my nephew his is in Oklahoma. He called about a week ago and said that hail had went through the lexan. I was a bit suprised, but even with UV protection it was 5 years old. I personally like the look. I do have to admit though when it gets hot it tends to get waves in it. As somone told me I am probably the only one to notice it. I orded directly from Applied and they took off the shipping as a repeat customer. I think a little sweet talk would get a new customer a little off.

I guess I didn't answer all the questions. It won't pit. It's lexan... sort of like a plexiglass. It's supposed to handle up to 200 lbs., but I wouldn't do it. I think if you had problems with it they would work with you (i.e. replace it).

It's water tight on the dodge without any extra gaskets. The cover has think gaskets all the way around it. When you close the tailgate there is also a gasket there. Water that get's on the cover may go into the box (where it rolls up), but they provide drain hoses. I was able to stick them through existing holes in the bed (no drilling). I think they made some improvements over the years.

When I bought my first I felt it had too many large waves when it got hot. They sent me a new sliding cover (lexan part) and didn't ask me to ship the old back. That was lucky for my nephew... he still has one to put back on.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

This is a straight shot to Applied http://www.rolltopcover.com/

Default I would recommend the Retrax.

I installed the Retrax in my 2010 HD Mega Cab about a month ago. Installation was a breeze and I did it alone. I just had to attach the rails to the box while on the ground, then if I picked up the unit from the edge of the retracted cover it balances perfectly and I can walk it onto the bed and rest it into place - just make sure you're surefooted and have a stable way of stepping into the bed with no hands, holding 50 pounds or whatever it is.

I've removed it once, and it took literally 5 minutes because I just drop the 4 clamps and pick it up, walk it off the truck. Re-installing takes 10 minutes because you have to re-align the rails to the tailgate (1/8 inch gap), so keep the little plastic gapper they provide.

I haven't had snow or much adverse conditions yet, but in the rain it keeps most of the bed dry, no complaints - I don't have the extra tailgate gasket either.

So far I love it, I was impressed with the fit-finish and feel like I've made the best choice for my circumstances.
