I noticed the same issue. So I just turned the light off in the EVIC settings. MDS wasn't actually coming on, but the light ws coming on at just random times it semmed.

I noticed this for the first time on Sunday, I'm not worried about it.

And what's the reasoning for turning the MDS off?

I turned it off because most of my driving is in the city. MDS kicked in almost all the time and made the 390HP V8 feel sluggish and sound like crap (Flowmaster 40).

I can understand the MDS not sounding good with the Flowmaster - one of the shops here won't install Flowmasters on trucks with MDS b/c too many people had complained about the sound.

But it's not really that sluggish. The transition from 4 cylinder to regular mode is practically seamless (a lot better than the 3rd gen). And if you're running a superchips tune, it seems even better.
