Hey guys- I'm hoping that someone can shine some light on my surprising issue that I have discovered within the past day or so.

Truck has 15,000 miles on it, I run royal purple 5-20 in it. At 1500 RPM between 50-60 MPH the engine makes a high pitched sqeaking noise. I can consistently produce this noise with the slightest tip-throttle just to keep the RPM at 1500 or slightly higher. I can't tell if this is the engine or tranny either.

This is concerning, I'm glad I have the lifetime warranty. Anyone know anything about this or run into this themselves?

 

How is the belt? Could it be slipping? I would take it in and ask the SA or mechanic to go for a ride with you to point out the problem.

Could be a bearing or clutch on A/C compressor, alternator, pwr steering. But he did say squeak not squeal.

 

I replaced the water pump on my truck due to something similar. Mine would squeak from idle to about 1500 rpm after hot starts only. It was quiet on cold starts but would get noisy after restarting after a 10 or 15 minute drive
