there are several aftermarket ones out there that will fit into the pocket we have now and with a little ingenuity I am sure we can make them look good and work the same. Also we don't need to go to the dealer for starscan...savings there and they won't mess anything else up.

Oh I'm not looking to save money on this project. But I do get my parts for 25% off so it won't be much more that a generic controller.

Thanks for the post, I have been using the factory controller with no issues for a couple months now, next time I have to go to the dealer I'll have them flash that in there to make it complete.

As far as the 'mystery modules' that came about on the 2500 boards and its possible on the 2500s it may be more tied into the vehicle brake system but I dont know. All I know is if you have a 2010 1500 and it has the two connectors the factory controller will work, nice to know it can be enabled in the EVIC as well.

2009 have different plugs. I know of one guy who tried to hard wire it in but it would not talk to the system. It is possible with this new flash that it may, if hard wired in, and flashed, work. But it still doesn't sound good for you 2009 guys.

I doubt Mopar would make it work for the 09 since it would be just one model year. That's to bad, I really like the factory integration.

I have the 2 plugs on my 2010 quad cab along with the 4/7 pin plug on the back and a class IV hitch. So how do I know if I have the 2 mysterious modules?

I don't think there are any mystery modules. I believe that was just a dealer trying to make more money.

There are no mysterious modules. Plug it in, get the VIN updated with the controller option via the dealer, and you are good to go.
