i dunno what the cause was but mine came with the chrome honeycomb grill and i personally like it better than the billet one.

I have a Canadian 2010 Sport with the honeycomb. I agree with 72combo. I hate chrome and if my truck had the chrome inserts, I would be replacing it with the honeycomb. The Sport models don't have any chrome to begin with (except rims), so I don't know why they would put chrome inserts in. I went to a dealership the other day and all the new Sport models there had the chrome billet inserts, so it looks like they switched to that style now. Lucky I got an early 2010 I guess.
As far as the chrome if mine came like that I would have to get it off there, does not look right with the sport.
I wish I had your grill. Mine must be the billett I think?? It's Chrome w/ Horizontal Bars.

Well I like the idea of them going with the all chrome billet on the sport because that makes less the same as mine and driving a black crew sport is a fairly common truck, probably the most popular. Not saying that cuz I have one trust me I wish it wasn't so popular. Does anyone know which colour is the most popular..the actual facts?
See if someone has a painted sport honeycomb grill that that swapped out for chrome you can get some coin for it I bet.
I suppose as long as they only go chrome grill is okay but not the bumper and handles and stuff, the painted door handles and like a luxury thing to me...most luxury cars have them if they are not chrome. I think it is left over or possible still influence from Daimler, they did imho not just come in and rob us for the cash reserves that Chrysler had but right away all car got bigger brakes and most went 4 wheel disk, and the luxury look in the truck and styling I think is a bit European styling and the ride and quietness. I have a 1972 and well it is all new parts frame up, complete new front end parts and it feels like and old piece of junk now compared to this so now I have to go get a tight ratio steering box and a smaller steering wheel to give it a more tighter feel, it's scarey man somuch difference in technology.

I might be interested. How hard are they to change out? I think the black honeycomb will contrast better with my white truck.
