jhedger - Yeah I kept trying to get the service advisor to let me take home the power wagon but he didn't budge he only offered a free shutle service that they provide.

Well its been a few days now the only thing that seems different is that the fuel saver light comes on more frequent.

jacruz2,

I am in the same boat as you too. I have had zero problems with my truck until today. I picked up a trailer not even an hour ago. When unhooking the trailer I left the truck running. Pulled the lights connection from the trailer pulled foward and shut the truck off. I went to the office to get some things, and when returning to the truck. She wouldn't start. I mean zilltz. It was like there was no engine under the hood. All of the electric was on and vehicle was in park. I messed with the locks, key fob, and nothing. So, I figured I would unhook the battery and see if the truck would reset. I pop the hood to figure what tools I needed to get. Shut the hood, because on top of all this it is raining. I figure, hey, what the hell, lets try one more time to start. Put the FOB in and it starts! I hop in the truck and run to auto zone. They hook up the code reader and it was a U0140, lost communication with body control module. Check Engine Light is on.

So do you think the trailer plug put the BCM in a fritz? The problem I have is I am towing a trailer to a volunteer project tommorow. The area is not the best part of town, and I am concerned about being stranded. In any case, it will be going to the dealer Monday to figure out what is wrong. However, should I risk getting stuck tommorow, or just take the tools I need to unhook the battery, and hope she will start. Or do I put my tail between my legs and get somebody else to pull it? The trailer will stay connected the whole time tommorow. If the trailer is causing my problem than I am not concerned cause I am not disconnecting. Anyways, I am looking for advice.

Thanks,
Josh D.

I guess I must be lucky, my dealer gives me a free loaner for any service for as long as I own the vehicle.

jdolotina - Sounds like the exact same thing that happened to my truck but I havent towed anything yet. Sounds like you need to take your truck in to get a PCM and TIPM flash thats what fixed my truck. It was so weird because I never had anything wrong with my truck until this and it just turned a year in May and it only has 10,000 miles on it.

jhedger - Sounds like you have a stand up dealership.
