Default 2010 Ram Toolbox

Anyone have any suggestions for an SLT with the 5 1/2 ft bed? Is there a narrow chrome one that would fit without taking too much bed space?

You can get Trailboss boxes in a 13" depth

Lowes has a Kobalt toolbox for a full size truck that's compact. Might get it myself, but I'm not sure if they have it in black.

I have been looking as well, Im looking for a flush mount though.....the kobalt one at lowes looks nice, but doesnt come in black...but I think its only $149 or so, with t lifetime warranty that cant be beat.

They have a black kobalt low profile, but I think its 18 inches deep or so,

Anyone have pictures of a 4th gen with toolbox?

from the front of the bed (non-recessed part) to the front of the wheelwell is only 15 inches, so thats an issue.

I wish someone made a 16-18 inch wide toolbox like that one...because then with the tapered sides it would fit.

I would also like to see some pictures of low-profile over the rail toolboxes on a 4th gen....because that would be a lot easier to find...

The low-profile is nice. I'm still not sure if I need/want that big of box back there. How would you mount this. Would you have to drill holes since it doesn't sit on the bed? It's also steel, not aluminum, how much extra weight is that?

Another question, would I be able to either paint or powder coat the 12" cobalt box? I think its aluminum. That would be ideal.

I'm new to toolboxes but picky on looks and need little extra storage. Thanks for the input.

on the flush mount I was going to bolt it to the truck bed, at first I was hesitant to drill holes in the bed, but most people who use J hooks for over the rail toolboxes end up with bent up rails....plus I figured 2 holes in the back wall of the truckbed are no big deal. again if you have the crew or quad cab that steel box above will NOT fit, not to mention you loose 20 inches of your truck bed.

the cobalt box could be powdercoated, but at that point you might as well just buy a black one...UWS has some slimline boxes that come in black, but you will have to order them.

I also have been thinking of getting a slim line over the rail box, but I would really like to see one on a ram before I make the decision....as of now it looks like my only options on a flush mount are custom or UWS brand boxes.

this is the flush mount I have been looking at and it seems it will fit my quad cab http://www.uwsta.com/products/alpha.php TBC-60-N (60" wide)
