Engine Surging around 1400RPM?

Engine Surging around 1400RPM?
Someone else was talking about having some engine surging when they were at about 1400 RPM and well my truck does the same thing when i'm driving around town but i can really notice it when i'm going up a hill.. happens even when the cruise control is on. happens around 50km and definately at 80km specially going up a hill.
SOmeone had mentioned about a MDS RRT update and was just wondering what that RRT was so i could ask my SA about it when i went in to get my MAnifold bolts put on.
