Cool tail gate cover

I was unloading insulation boxes and one of the boxes pull the plastic spoiler/lid cover off. Mine did not have any dbl sided tape on it. I had to go to the dealer for oil change/ transmission fluid change. I ask the rep about any recalls RRT's . My 09 has 61,000 on it . She said if there was a RRT it had to be done under 36,000 our 36 months ?

I bought some dbl. sided tape and installed some pop riviots on the inside lip.

Yep, you have to pay for an RRT if you are out of warranty. Your double sided tape solution will probably work just as well and will be much easier on your pocketbook than having the dealer do the RRT. On a side note, I think in the second half of the 2009 model year Dodge made the plastic carrots that hold the tailgate spoiler on larger so they have more interference and stay on better. If you still have problems with yours, you could try purchasing a new spoiler cap to replace yours with.

I bought my 09 Sport with 41,000 miles on it and bought an extended warranty. Dodge did all of the RRT's that needed to be done and they were covered by the extended warranty. So now I am covered until 77,000 miles and 3 more years.

Sorry about this post, but I'm a noob.

Whats an RRT? And I have a 2009 dodge Ram 1500 with 9,000 miles on it. Should I take it to the dealer? HAHA Sorry.

We are all here for information and to help each other, so don't feel like a noob.

Rapid Response Transmittal, not a recall, but something Chrysler found out to be a problem and sent out a fix for.

When you take your truck in for service, the dealer "should" check to see if any apply to your vehicle and if they do take the appropriate action.

i was at dodge parts picking up my bumper insert and a tech was there and was showing me clips on that tailgate plastic piece and said they break easy and have people in with them broke just from the wind on the freeway

he told me that because he said that bumper insert had the clips and that u have to squeeze the clips with pliers so they dont break as u take them out......funny thing was that bumper insert didnt have those clips

that cover cant be 20-30 bucks to replace

My bedrug comes up over the edge of the spoiler or whatever you wanna call it, your fix should take care of it. Too bad, that was a scam deal my deal got paid to replace my spoiler but they didnt they just put 2way tape..actually the dealer I purchased it from not the one I use now. They did not replace it but got paid to. Part of the reason I don't use them for regular service.
