Default Just picked up a locking fuel cap - I cant get it to lock

I opened the little box up and found the gas cap with a key inserted in it.

I gave him the cash and ran out the door trying to make up for last time because I was on lunch.

I backed my truck in to the spot here at work, wolfed down my lunch, and decided I would swap them out with the few minuets of lunch I still had left.

I unscrewed the old cap and twisted the new one on. I twisted the key a quarter turn and it wouldn't come out. I couldn't get it to do anything except twist the keys a quarter turn and twist right back to the unlocked position.

Am I doing something wrong? I am going to go back out on 2nd break and take another look at it. Wow, it is hot and standing out in the parking lot is not a good break.

Here is the one the dealer gave me for my '09 4.7 Ram.

looks like the one on my moms jeep, hold the cap and turn it right to get the key out then make sure the cap is tight and if u try to take it off it should just click and keep turning

when u unlock it u turn the key left and it should unlock and the cap will twist off....i usually take the key out and fill up and put it on without the key and it locks just fine
