Park Assist Issue
This has happened to me twice in one week. I put truck in R and the back up assist goes nuts. Beeping and the EVIC display says "Service Park Assist" and it will leave a message but then it will go away. Scaried the hell out of me thought a little one was behind me jumped out to check and there was nothing. I checked the sensors no dirt, no damage. ??? Anyone else have this happen to them?
My 2011 was doing the same intermittently. Now I just have the "service park assist system" on the e.v.i.c. and an illuminated button on the dash.
My Matco Determinator scanner only has up to 2010 software, and doesn't seem to interact with the park assist system.
If you come up with a solution before I do, please share.

Here is my solution: while "service park assist" is on.
I'm not going to get into chocking the wheels etc, just make sure the vehicle is not going to move.
I did this on a hoist. Wheels off the ground.
Turn the key on, leave the engine off.
Place the gear selector in reverse.
Place your ear (or stethoscope) directly on each sensor. You should hear a faint but audible clicking or snapping sound from each sensor, similar in sound to a spark plug firing. If you do not, that is the sensor to check the connection on or replace.
Place the vehicle in park and turn off the ignition.
With a small screwdriver, A sensor can be replaced in under a minute on the 4th gen. Ram.
Don't forget to transfer the o-ring (mine was clear) to the new sensor. I overlooked it until I went to dispose of the old sensor.
The system will reset its self when the ignition is turned back on, if everything is functioning properly.
