Default No more Rambox?

Took truck in yesterday for oil change and while out roaming new truck lot salesman came out to talk, it was a slow day(drizzling rain) so we shot the bull for @ 30 min under one of the canopies,he had nothing but good things to say about the trucks and even the new Cherokee is going to be a great success in his mind, he mentioned that the new rambox was redhot at first but most people are buying regular bed now to the point that it is getting hard to sell them, he said he looked for them to discontinue them after the 2011 year, anyone else hear anything, I don't have one on my truck, it wasn't availible yet when I bought(Jan. 2009) but that was what I stopped at the dealer during Christmas break that year to look at

Sounds like a salesman with an opinion and no facts to me.

I will say it is a pricey option though......

The 1800 for the rambox is a lot. But if you work out of your truck it really works good.
1] If you bought a Alium tool box for truck [ 400.00]
2] The room that is freed up by the ram box is GREAT
3] When you load your truck the side boxes are stil easy to get too.
4] Railling system for tie downs
5] Bed extender works good.
For the working Truck I like mine a lot . Built for work.

The one option I wanted was a Rambox, but there just weren't any around in the Laramie trim level with Crew Cab, on either occasion. I'd have happily traded the nav radio for Rambox, but it just wasn't to be.

Shame really, it's a great feature. One of the features in fact that attracted me to the truck. I was playing with the Rambox on the showroom model, and kept thinking "I want one of these!".

The original maker of the RamBox for Dodge went bankrupt a while back. A new supplier was found but for a long time it was not allowed to be order. Once the new supplier gets up to capacity I think you will start to see them again.

I have the ramboxes on my 09 Ram and love them. I really never liked the look of them on the truck but all the use i have got out of them has made me forget. They are worth having and can hold a adult set of golf clubs as advertised.

I love my RamBox. The only reason I got them was because it was the only truck left in white, and I got such a great deal on the truck, and I must say they are great.

The only thing I dont like so far is, I am an insurance adjuster so I need to be able to carry a 2 story ladder and I have yet to find a ladder rack system to work with the Rambox.

Anybody heard of a ladder/utility rack system???

There is hitch mounted ladder holder. The unit mounts into your hitch, and the ladder sits in your bed and out onto the unit. JC Whitney had them for sale.

Ill check that out. My biggest concern is when the ladder is at its shortest is about 16' long, and by bed is under 6' so it would stick out a lot.

I know this is an old thread and I don't want this to come off as spam, but we build custom truck racks and have built a few for the Dodge Rambox. Here is a link with some photos.
