Default Thinking about going back to stock exhaust

Im planning on putting the stock system back on my truck with the addition of having a stainless steel exhaust tip added to spice up the tail pipe.. I drive a lot, and tow a lot and the Flowmaster starting to take a toll on me and my passengers. It sounds perfect if I was on the drag strip, but for every day use its a bit much. I have really enjoyed it, but I think i will be perfectly fine listening to the hemi's roar. If anything, if i start to ache for some exhaust down the road, I will just add an electric cut out for when I want to be a little crazy.

Which flowmaster did you have on your truck?

I completely agree with your logic. I love the sound of a good exhaust but it gets old after several hours of listening to it or the kids/wife complain about it. My Sport exhaust already has drone around 1800 rpm so I can imagine what the FM sounds like. I want to get a cutout but can't find the Raceland for sell anywhere currently.

Beautiful Ram Ran jr. Im glad to hear Im not the only 1 who is having these thoughts. I get compliments on it all the time, but that doesn't necessarily justify keeping it. What I think I was going to do was put the stock muffler in, add a magnaflow y pipe to the outlet of it to hook up the existing dual outlet tail pipes from the flow master, and possibly may also have the crimped y-pipe off the manifolds replaced with a mandrel y pipe. Anyone done this job yet?

I had thought about Maganflow, but I am sort of the type that wants all or nothing.

I had a DMH E-cutout on my 08 Adrenalin Sport Trac V8. It sounded badass but I couldn't stand it being open for more than a few minutes. It was a ton of fun though.

E-cutouts are all garbage. I've tried most of the major brands on either my Adrenalin or my WRX STi.

They all have motor failure or corrosion problems in upstate, NY after about a year of use.

If they made a switch that automatically goes to full open or full closed, that would help a lot. It would reduce the amount of stress on the cutout motor by not trying to open the unit when it's already open. counting to yourself gets annoying after a while and it's not always spot on!
