Default BakFlip is ripping me off

I'm most upset because so many other people have had such great things to say about them. Either they're taking advantage of a girl or they aren't fair when things don't work correctly.

I had problems with leaking (severe leaking, not minor leaks which they said weren't covered) and a loose piece of weather stipping at the end, so they told me I could return it for an exchange. I had to wait weeks to get the cover picked up, then they said they needed to inspect it, then they shipped me another cover. All and all, I waited almost 2 full months to get a new cover on my truck.

So I'm already upset about this and this new cover is the exact same as the old cover. It leaks in the exact same location (but the weather stipping looks like it was repaired). I wonder if they sent me my old cover back!

Now they want to deduct the cost of shipping off both units in order for me to return it ... under warranty!

I've seen others have great things to say about this company, but beware, this company could rip you off. I have the G2 model on a Quad SLT.

I'll never buy another thing from this company.

Others have reported issues with leaks but were able to fix on their own. Mine leaks around the tailgate but it's mostly because my driveway is at an angle and I like to back in.

Can you post some pics of where you think it's leaking and also the strip they repaired? You may be able to get some help here if we can see what you're dealing with.

I am one of the people that had nice things to say about the BakFlip F-1.

I had a minor leak which I was able to eliminate by using spacers they said weren't required for the 2010. I also had to apply a little crazy glue to secure some of the rubber in a small area they missed at the factory. All in all, I still think it is a great cover and would still recommend it.

I know you said you had a major leak but minor/major are relative terms. If you can be more specific as to exactly how, where and when it is leaking maybe a fix can be suggested. Pictures are always helpful.

As far as the shipping charges go I believe you will find it to be standard practice for any company to give you one free ride and charge you after that. Unless you can demonstrate a total screw up on the product or repair you will be on the hook for the shipping.

Ya know - that's a great idea. Let me go find those pics and put them somewhere to share with this group. I'd love if we're able to just fix it and save me the trouble of figuring what else needs to be done. Thanks for the offer.

I paid 248 buck for mine from Craftec. I have had it over a year only problem is i am afraid to tighten the rams on the side of the truck for fear of breaking the bolt so it falls off once in a while. No big deal...thinking I might have to trim the plastic off so it pinches metal only the plastic is probably slippery. It is vinyl buy opens like a hard top but to remove it take a small screwdriver to pop of the 2 rams and then stand it up all the say and its out. My wife and son installed it.A few leaks at first but easily fixed with some extra provided seals. Only thing is the sides of the tailgate but I don't care there is minimal, nothing gets wet.
