If your truck ran fine at the beginning, you should try resetting the computer to see if it goes back to the initial performance. From what I understand, when you first put a CAI on the performance goes up, but then the computer begins adjusting the engine to compensate for the increased air and trying to bring it back into its preset specs. Maybe some of these trucks are over adjusting after while and causing the issues.

To reset the computer, all you have to do it disconnect the NEGATIVE battery terminal for 30 minutes.

It'd been an interesting experiment to see if is actually that.

Yes, I changed the exhaust. I am starting to think that the intake may be pulling hot air from the engine compartment.

NO. Stock Sport muffler still installed. I noticed that Mopar Performance lists a 90mm throttle body as an upgrade. Would that make a difference. What is the stock throttle body size?

Is it possible the computer doesn't know how to adjust to the increased airflow ?

Stock size is 80mm. Arrington offers a 85 mm and a 90mm.

You can also have yours sent off and re-bored (maxbore.com).

FWIW, I have found that the CAI by itself does not help much, if any at all. Maybe some can hurt low end torque??
I can tell you that when you mix a better flowing intake system with an exhaust system and mix in some computer tweaks you get a decent increase in HP & torque.

Positioning is everything:

More HOT air into the TB than stock = Loss of performance, better MPGs.

More COOL air into the TB than stock = Gain in performance, lower MPGs.
