Default EVIC Issues

First, I did a search and only found one with a remotely similar issue but this is a specific issue:

The EVIC display in my 2010 Ram CC 4X4 "Big Horn" has "blanked out" on me for the second time now. I purchased the truck back in the end of May 2010. The first time the EVIC blanked out was about a month ago. It just now did so today. The last time I let the truck sit a bit and started it up and the EVIC display came back on by itself.

This time, it hasn't come back on yet. Do I need to take it back to the dealer to get it replaced or is it just something that happens since it's a computer and computers are known to "glitch" every now and then?

Sure you didn't push the buttons that make it blank out? (Left arrow twice if I remember correctly)

Mine has never glitched. I would take it in.

Ya if you take it in when it not doing it, and they can't replicate it you know what the work order will say....Could not replicate problem. Then you just go there when it quits and show them.
two clicks on the left arrow, how do you turn it back on?

You turn it back on with 1-2 clicks on the right arrow

I had my truck in for the axle seal recall and they did a flash. They said it was for intermitent EVIC blank outs. Go in and see, they should have a flash for the issue. Mine had just gone blank about 3 days earlier. Just a glow, nothing else. Buttons did nothing, turning it on and off got me nowhere. Then it came back as suddenly as it left. Hasn't done it since the flash.

get some video when it happens next time. be sure show yourself pressing the steering wheel buttons on the video (if that was not the problem). if it was the problem, don't show it on the video...

LOL. I'll probably mention it on my first oil change (since it's free) and have them do all the TSBs (if applicable).

Thanks for all who replied!

Default EVIC: can it recall previous display

Interesting to read the EVIC can be blanked out with two <. I don't remember reading that anywhere in the Dodge documentation.

Is there any way to have it display on start up what I was looking at at shutdown? As opposed to the way it is now with the main menu and having to scroll through everything to get to the display I want (transmission temp).

Pressing the BACK button twice on the steering wheel will blank the EVIC. Pressing it again will bring it back, as well as turning off the ignition then back on... I sometimes blank it when I feel like it......
