Default New Purchase...need a little advice!

I just drove home today in a spanking new 2010 1500 Crew Cab!!! Pumped up!

Am looking for some advice from you guys on two purchases that I would like to add; would be much appreciated!

1. Hard Tonneau Cover (I have the short bed). Had an Undercover on my last Ram...worked great. Is this still the best bang for the buck lid? If so, any tips where to buy for the best price?

2. Nerf Bars. Brands that I should stay away from (rusting, etc.)? Any suggestions on which ones to get? Dealer wanted $400 (self install) for Mopar...was this a good deal?

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Leer 700 is the best looking and performing hard tonneau. Yes, it costs a little more, but is absolutely beautiful, will last you the life of your truck, and has great customer support. I looked at the Undercover and even looked at a painted one, but the way it mounted and was hinged just didn't seem like quality to me. YMMV...

If you're looking for hard cover keep in mind retractable hard covers like jack rabbit or full metal jack rabbit by pace edwards. there are also other brands. just an alternative to one piece hinged fiberglass covers. each has pros and cons.

Yes that is a great deal on the mopar nerf bars mine were 650 with no install. I think the mopar one looks the best because it doesnt curve at the ends under the truck, its just a strait bar

I just installed a pair of these on my new crew cab:

Westin Platinum Series, chrome over 304 stainless steel. Install took me about an hour at an easy pace.

Go with the mopar nerfs. They seem to be well built and don't flex and look great. Only down side if there is one is that they hang close to the body, but you learn how to step so you don't kick the door jam.

I have the sport and the Mopar nerfs match the design on the back bumper and the grille. Had them over year and half and in Canada with lots of salt in winter no rust yet

We currently have an undercover on our 09 Quad Cab (slightly longer bed that yours) and we love it. It works/fits great and can be popped off in less than a minute and put back on in about the same time so your truck can still be a truck when you need it to be.
