Why waste the energy.

While I agree about the Hemi filters, the OP has a CTD not a hemi

At Dallas Dodge they charge 13.00 plus taxes and fees [16.30] ... I can't buy the oil and filter for that , they lube and do there inspection also?

the big disadvantage of doing it your self is he 14+ lt of oil you have to dispose off, THe big advantge of doing it your self is your smarter than the lube guy, tie rods, u joints need to be greased as well, in the event of waranty issue down the road, you will have to prove you maintained your truck.

I hate dealers ....

Haha I guess I should get reading glasses. Mines not a hemi but I figured that since I'm a girl and only weigh 107lbs I'd let the guys at the dealership do it the first time that way I didn't have to strain my puny muscles. Now that it's all loosened up I can do it on my own

Default One very important thing to remember ....

Please make sure you PRE-FILL the oil filter. Especially on the diesel, it holds one quart and takes a long time to fill if put on dry. Cummins considers it abuse if not pre-filled. To make future oil changes easy get one of these, http://www.fumotousa.com/ F104N for Cummins (oil drain valve with nipple). It's the first thing I put on any vehicle.

I had a 2006 3500 5.9 CTD and I miss that truck. I'm sorry I sold it. Good Luck and enjoy your trucks!!!!
