It doesn't make sense that the K&N is causing the loss of MPGs, Have you tried going back to the paper one to compare?

I don't change my filters that often as I live in the city. I do have property in the woods and summertime it is really dusty so I take the paper filter out and "clean it" when I get home.

Changed back to the paper one for a few days, fuel eco dropped back to where it was pre-K&N. Put the K&N back in, pulled the neg terminal on the battery and let everything reset. Now its worse than before I tried the paper one back in........13.2mpg!

I am at a loss...hearing everyone else say they have never seen this kind of a dip in fuel economy after a K&N, I don't know what to think.

Honestly, it should not even matter unless your starving your truck for air. Please correct me if I am wrong but your not even using the features of free flow unless you have the hammer all the way down..

Maybe too much oil on the K&N?

I'll bet you anything it's not the air filter, but probably your fuel injection. Flush that baby out and you should be good to go.

Also, go ahead and get the Cold Air Intake instead of the paper filter.
