Default '09 Ram w/4.7 liter engine spark plug replacement interval changed per Dodge

I was just about to go in and have my top row of spark plugs replaced on my 4.7 engine per the owners manual and was dreading paying $200 for something I thought didn't need to be done at a mere 30,000 miles.

I decided to download the latest version of the 09 Ram owners manual off dodge.com and discovered that the downloaded version's top row spark plug interval had been changed from every 30,000 mi to every 48,000 mi, which seemed much more reasonable. I also called dodge to confirm they did indeed change the interval requirements and they told me that the online is the latest and to use the new requirements. Interesting they didn't bother to tell anyone about this change.

Why would they? "Worst case" it means they make more money.

I looked at the maintenance schedule but it was for the 2010 model, did you find the 2009 schedule online with the change? I have the hemi and was looking to see if it also changed - it didn't.
