I tried to make that point about forum subsections being confusing (see 4th Gen Forum - split apart or not?) but the mods were having nothing to do with the idea of leaving things in one section: "It's already been decided."

I probably wouldn't have moved your post, myself. I've asked the section mods to ease up a bit on moving posts from the tech section to the general discussion section unless they are CLEARLY non-technical in nature.

With the exception of a few in this section, ALMOST ALL of the feedback forum-wide has been positive on the General Discussion sections. A few in other sections seemed "put out" by having a thread or two moved, but we've gotten NOWHERE NEAR the complaints we had before the GD sections were created about moving totally non-technical threads to Off Topic OR the complaints about having to sift through a ton of non-tech threads to find information. (and I've gotten a few PMs in that regard from 4th Gen users).
Your own poll is even fairly split down the middle on the subject.

Hopefully, this "lightening up" on moving borderline threads will be a step in the right direction. Again, if anyone has any constructive ideas, please feel free to PM me...

Thanks for the 'lightening up' on thread moving.

I think one difference between the 4th gen and other sections of the forum may be that our trucks are relatively new and the ratio of technical stuff to non-tech stuff is very high. There is lots to learn and share and much new being discovered day by day. Other, older generations probably have less new tech stuff to discuss and therefore may have more non-tech discussions. Just a guess on my part, but maybe that's why we're different.
