Default Husky Mud Guard

I just installed a set of front and rear Husky mud guards. My two questions are... there is a third hole that is located at the top that needs to be drilled into the body panel to mount. As of now I have just used the two factory holes and skipped the drilling. Anyone do this??? Any issues? The top hole is only 2.5in above the other mounting screw. Seems pretty strong to me?

Also with only just over 1000 miles on her, the corners of the rear bumper are all nicked up from stone chips (even through the protective tape). Going to peal the tape off and do a little touch up... but do you think I'll need to reinstall the 3M tape now having the mud guards installed?

Thanks for the help.

Funny you should mention that. It seems to take a lift, and removal of the wheels to drill that hole properly. So... I just used some super strong double sided take I had laying around in the garage. Seems to have worked like a champ so far.

Thanks... Think I'll do the same. Got some strong 3M double sided tape that I will use for now. I'll re-evaluate how they are when I finally get my Mopar leveling kit installed and have to take the wheels off any way.

Default that hole

I have an extension for my drill that can bend and I was able to drill it without taking the wheel off. It is not perfectly straight in but you are only drilling through and 1/8" inch piece of plastic. If you really try I bet you can getit to work.

i used a right angle drill for mine. i don't think it will matter. unless you hit something and rip it of, but i don't think it would help anyway. lol
