Rusty Bumpers
Has anybody gotten any action out of dodge on this?? or is my dealer just giving me the run-around! I get the feeling they're dragging this out hoping that I'll forget about it. What do you guys think??
Turtle wax chrome polish and about 5 minutes of your time once a year will solve your problem. My bumpers still look like new and I did the polish this past spring. I'll plan on using it again next spring after the salt is off the roads.
I bought the chrome protection when I bought my truck and I've already replaced the front bumper. The rear bumper needs it and so do my chrome side steps. I'm going to take it in soon to get them replaced.
you guys think your chrome bumpers got it bad, my ST painted bumpers are speckled with rust chips. to the point its noticeable 15 feet away. i've decided to have the bumpers replaced or re-painted then LINE-X them.

my 2010 with 30 miles on it is having the front bumper replaced. It was on backorder for some time, and they said it was because they were changing it somehow. warranty on the whole thing and gave me a rental thru enterprise... no hassles at all.
I don't have any literature, but the service manager at my dealership said to look for the recall late Aug-Early Sept. In addition to the rust spots, apparently they are seeing alot of staining around the fog lights (like water streaming out of the fog light cut-out but it has stained the bumper), which I have.....as well as the upper bolts on the front bumpers are rusting and causing additional problems with the chrome.
There won't be a recall, not for this. Recalls are extremely expensive for automakers and for this reason they are strictly limited to safety related defects or issues. They may come out with an RRT or TSB, but no recall. Most likely they'll tell the dealer to use the $5 bottle of turtle wax (or Mopar equivalent) chrome polish.
