Default Oil Change

Ok the info center is saying its time for an oil change. SEE DEALER. Do I really have to take it to the dealer everytime I change the oil. How can I reset the this thing on my own

The instructions are in your manual, but it's simply turn the key on without starting it, then depress the accelerator 3 times. That will reset the light, you can get your oil changed anywhere. I would keep receipts for proof, just in case..

I had the same concern.So i called the dealership and asked them,they said no,but to record it in a book,binder,etc...I made a trip to walmart,and purchased a small leather back book and i glue all of my receipts to the page and wright down the date,mileage,and engine hours when i change the oil and filters.I change my air filter every other oil change regardless.I use castrol syntec,purolator air filter(A35462),K-N oil filter(HP-2010).I have used valvoline synpower,but castrol syntec shows to protect against wear better according to engine oil comparison charts.

Just be sure to use 5w-20.
