I'm kind of heading off topic here, but this can apply to any vehicle that someone want's to modify or program the computer. Would it be possible to buy a 2nd computer and swap it out lets say they were both coded to your vin and anything else. Would it be possible? cause that would provide a nasty loophole to this whole programming situation

Maybe.I have had 1 2500 4x4 come in with auto trans issues.Speedometer read 64k so truck fell under the factory 7/70 power train. While tech was scanning computer for any codes, monitoring shifts etc.he noticed mileage on computer should 170k.He brought me a est.of parts needed for the repair and explained what he found.Owner of the truck bought and sold Mercedes parts, thought he'd be cute and use a used speddometer.Point being I think it woyuld take more then a extra ecm. Owner of truck paid the $checkout charge and never said a word.
